Frequently asked questions
- Where are my files sent?
- Nowhere. Tools without a lock process your files right in your browser, and the page is not allowed to send anything. You can check this in your browser's developer tools (F12), on the Network tab.
- Are the tools free, and do they have limits?
- All the tools are free. There is no limit on the number or size of files; with large files, only your device's performance and memory matter.
- Do the tools work on a phone?
- Yes, the tools work on a computer and on a phone. A phone handles large files more slowly, though, and changing the order of PDF pages by dragging is easier with a mouse.
- Why does downloading videos and music need a sign-in?
- Downloading videos and music cannot be done in the browser itself, so it runs on my self-hosted server. To keep strangers from overloading the server, only people I grant access can use the tool.
- Why were the tools made?
- They were made to replace commercial online services that, in their free versions, limit the number or size of files and process the files on their own servers.
